this, the instrumental at least, is a leftover from the Rescue sessions. There's a video from 2011 somewhere on youtube from Jordan Valeriote, the producer of both that album and this, of them messing with the verses in the studio. 11 years назад

I think in the end it was mutual. they said in an interview that he had little to no input in short songs and just didn't seem to be into it anymore. I guess he was burned out or could have been because of marriage or what ever. Either way it worked out best for everyone.11 years назад

Yes, he did, but it they didn't seem to part ways in the most friendly way. Shane has mentioned that Neil contributed very little to Short Songs and that after marrying he wanted to tour less, so that's the main reason why they changed their guitarist.11 years назад
