Thank you so much! I've been searching around and asking people what it was for about a year now and just couldn't find it! You don't happen to know what vocal effects he uses live do you? I was looking into what he was using for the Across the Great Divide tour and the new effects he was using for Groovin' The Moo in 2010.

Hi, Yes, it's a stereo doubling effect: it takes the original mono vocal, splits it into two mono sounds, pans one hard left, the other hard right, and introduces a short delay between the two. In The Beatles' day they called it ADT: Artificial Double-Tracking. Their engineers invented it in 1966. Prior to that singers had to manually double their lead vocals. If you're using VST-enabled DAW software you can find something for your own recordings: just Google 'stereo vocal doubler VST'

@LJChaz i love that song but i have always loved that song black tangled heart more , when it comes to silverchair , they are the vincent van goh's of our time and might not be loved now but years in the future people will hear the music daniel john made and go WTF , why did the rest of the world at that time not listen to his brilliance ?
