Silkworm

Well, they did play together a few times, with Silkworm opening for Pavement. They were big fans of each other, Silkworm even has a Pavement cover. I can't speak for a full blown tour though, I may be wrong on that. Look up Malkmus on Silkworm, and he has some nice things to say. The two bands were on great terms and I think this was really more of a tribute, I ripped off the same guitar part with my own band because honestly? I LOVE Silkworm and Pavement, and I thought it would be cheeky. =)

Other way around. This song rips off a hook from In The Mouth, A Desert which was written two years earlier. (Albeit it was ripped off in an intentional, loving sort of way.) The two bands toured together several times.

If I can find a picture of the band to accompany I'll post a really fine live recording of the band doing this back in Sept. 1993. Just listened to the show this morning in a while. A really captivating live band, always enjoyed seeing the four piece line up live. Very over looked.
