I got this band from the AV Club too. They're an experimental jazz band whose latest album, Blackjazz, is exactly what it sounds like (if you think it sounds like a jazz/black metal fusion). Words cannot even describe how awesome this is, but here's an attempt: Imagine the most insane free jazz you've ever heard. Now, imagine that those guys spent months touring with Enslaved, and decided to do something like that. Shining isn't exactly a metal band, but this is definitely metal as fuck, and while it's pretty out there, it's nowhere near boring. Seriously, these guys are awesome, and this fusion is (as far as I know) pretty much unheard of, so they've got a near-monopoly on an awesome combination that everyone should check out at least once.
