I married in may 2011. we had a son in January 2012. we split in November 2012. the marriage was a disaster from start to finish; constant arguments caused by differing views on life and parenting and certain other incidents. I was forced to give up the "family" I always wanted, the idea of raising my son in a happy home with both parents and brothers and sisters all together. I had some terrible nights. I remember laying in bed crying myself to sleep and my then 9 month old son putting his arm around me and holding me like he knew what he was doing. I didn't know how I was going to start over, or if I even could. I contemplated suicide, at times, but my son kept me going. then in 2013, I met the most amazing woman I could ever dream of and over the last 2 years have grown to love her more and more each and every day. she truly is a gift from God. Goodbye's are never easy, but sometimes goodbye is a second chance and I'm beyond thankful for mine.

Shinedown is my go to band when I need to cope with my feelings and problems. I got my second chance the day I Damn near killed myself my iPod was on shuffle and I was done I didn't have a desire to live and then the next song started it was second chance. I listened to that sing word for word. Even with all the cuts on my wrists and the hatred in my heart. I had the courage to talk to my mom. And in that day I sat in avera for 23 days, it was hell, but that "hell" saved my life I thank shinedown for giving my second chance and helping me through all the stormy days and the cloudy nights. My goodbye could have cost my life, but my second chance was given and I can't thank shinedown enough for that.
