This song makes a ton of sense but then again if you look on the other side of the river, there are things that he doesn't outline. I get it if you have pain in your life. Everyone feels pain but you can choose whether to suffer or not. But as I listen, I noticed there is something that the artist probably didn't even consider. Some individuals really have no place to go, no where safe for them, and others simply have mental disorders. Sure you have had a tough life, everyone has, but there are forms of pain that one simply cannot understand or comprehend. I may be taking this too seriously, but he has not experienced every type of pain to be the one to say "I created the sound of madness, wrote the book on pain". Everyone experiences and handles pain separately, so to me, this song is underestimating psychological problems that makes someone wish to "harm" or "kill" themselves. I've honestly been there in my life and I've had no one. It was someone doing down the same path as me that I decided to "pretend" to be alright to give them hope and move forward. I may still be dealing with these problems but I am not the same as I used to. If someone said those lines to me in person, I'd tell the to "shut the fuck up". Oh, so you fight with your parents a lot or a friend died, that does not mean you know every single type of pain out there to tell someone to "get over it". Then again, I may be taking this too seriously.
