Never heard this before, as much as my 64 year-old brain can remember. I always thought Shelby was a one-hit wonder, with the magnificent "Angel on my Shoulder" I remember this as an instrumental of course. Very pretty version, and what a wonderful, ear-candy voice.

On this day in 1960 {December 26th} "Angel On My Shoulder" by Shelby Flint entered Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; and on April 29th, 1961 it peaked at #22 {for 1 week} and spent 12 weeks on the Top 100...She had one other Top 100 hit, "Cast Your Fate To The Wind", it reached #61 in 1966 and stayed on the Top 100 for 7 weeks...Ms. Flint celebrated her 74th birthday three months ago on September 17th...

This is version that I have been searching for. I first heard this on the radio here in Canada in August 1966. This song and The Sandpipers' version of "Guantanamera" as well as "Mas Que Nada" by Sergio Mendes & Brasil 66 made the summer of 1966 very memorable indeed. I also had the fall 1966 Mantovani album with the orchestral cover version of "Yesterday".

Heavens to Murgatroid! What an angelic voice Ms Flint has! I'm surprised she's pretty much only known for two hits: this song & "Angel on My Shoulder". She's incredibly gifted and a very pretty lady.
