There's def SOME similarly between SWR and Interpol. SWV is more mopey, goth chick sitting in her room, minimalist cool, whereas Interpol is more modern rock, full real band, with a light goth layer in the sound. Some similarity in the cool monotone - ness of the singers but Justin W is more minimalist low talk - singing and Paul B is a bit more modern rock "singing". Both bands are good in their own way and both clearly come in some small part from the lineage of the aforementioned goth rock bands of decades past.
