I really like her voice, but for this song I prefer the Darius Rucker & Sheryl Crow version.

By the way I feel that you are being unessicarily rude. i was just offering a different opinion, and I felt like you were being a little agrrsive.I apologize for the last two coments, I admitt I was being agresive myself. I was just angry. I would also like to apologize to trillian twins, i didn't mean to put you you out there. Let 's put this all behind us and rember what raelly brought us here. the wonderful music of She&Him! :) :) :)

Well, madamoiselle, if you we really paying attention to the wiki article, you would've read that the song was controverisal because "Criticisms of the song stem from a reading of the lyrics as..but instead as the "mouse" genuinely wanting to leave but being stopped by the "wolf". another passage says "There is also the line 'Hey, what's in this drink', which could be taken to sound suspiciously like the "mouse" has been drugged".So why don't you ggive some lip to to The trilliantwin?

Uh huh. Well genius; Wiki tells me that the song was composed in 1944 by Frank Loesser who "wrote the duet in 1944 and premiered the song with his wife, Lynn Garland, at their Navarro Hotel housewarming party, and performed it toward the end of the evening, signifying to guests that it was nearly time to end the party. Lynn considered it "their song" and was furious when Loesser sold the song to MGM." She must have been furious because he sold their date rape song huh? Pull head out of vagina!

It implies that a drug has been slipped in her drink.Yes it's possible she could be asking if there is any nutmeg in her beverage, but more than likely he's put an amphertamine in it, which would imply that he wants to rape her. Other lyrics in the song imply that the girl is being forced to staysuch as"I simply must go""the answer is no""I've got to go home."Im not saying girls are weak and that men are strong,Im just being realistic.so get off your high horse. Oh yeah i can think for myself.

Assuming a lot aren't we? "Say, what's in this drink?" implies that he plans to rape her? I suppose if you are used to a narrative in which all men are rapists and all women are feeble victims I would understand; and feel sorry for you for not being able to think for yourself.

Man:"Baby it's bad out there." Girl: "Say what's in this drink?' Man:"No cabs to be had out there."

It's just a role reversal of the original song.

Date rape? Are you hearing things in the song that aren't actually said? Which lyric speaks to "date rape"?

She is right. This version is still creepy. Yeah, date rape is still wrong either way.

Moral of the story: date rape is okay as long as it's a woman-on-man situation

Anita Sarkeesian would have us believe the original is sexist and degrading to women. And to her I say.... Baby it's warm and pleasant outside- be gone. Nice vid.
