I think this was the show hosted by Chuck Berry and he asked him to let go of his pony tail. Shawn said, "You want me to let it go?" Then Chuck said something like, "Boy, you must have started growing that around the time of Maybelline." Good times.

I remember seeing this and recording it to cassette. I can't remember who the host was that night, but they said somethin to the effect... Host: "You musta started grow'in that (hair) when Maybelline came out." Shawn: "Ya want me to turn it loose?" (he had his hair tied back) Crowd cheers as he lets it loose.

I finally found my life long guitar dream hero. Too fine! At 12 I knew the words to most of his songs. He inspired me to play guitar! 12- string to boot. I am now 50 and my mother would go with me to the concerts. We bought all 8 - 8tracks we found. Please - enough on hair. Glad for you, Now can we listen to the music!?!

Problem with long hair is it can be extremely hazardous for men doing certain kinda work. Take Shawn for instance: while working on a 50 HP Perkins diesel engine in a 9 meter Italian fishing boat while on vacation in 1976, his hair got acidentally caught in the propeller shaft (floorboards were removed at the time) and it ripped his hair out and his scalp away from his skull requiring 29 stitches. Why do young men cut their hair so short these days...KIDS these days!!! I wish more men would grow their hair long, it's realy the only thing that looks cute to us ladies (if it's still possible). Guys, don't be jealous of Fabio, just grow your hair long too.
