In diesem Stück von The Corrs spielt Caroline Corr eine Bodhrán, eine irische Rahmentrommel.Herkunft des Namens bodhrán, sowie deren Geschichte lässt sich inzwischen besser rekonstruieren als noch vor wenigen Jahren, auch wenn noch nicht alle Fragen beantwortet sind. Der Name stammt vom irischen Wort bodhar ab, welches taub, stumpf, benommen oder auch dumpf bedeuten kann. Das Wort bodharaí steht für einen hohlen Ton, den Klang einer Trommel und so weiter. Vom Wort bodhar leitet sich übrigens seit dem Mittelalter das engl. Wort „to bother“ ab. Bodhar ist heute nicht mehr im Gebrauch. Der früheste Nachweis eines Gebrauchs des Wortes bhodhrán geht auf eine Schrift aus dem 15. Jahrhundert zurück, eine medizinische Anleitung, in der ein aufgeblähter Bauch mit dem Klang einer Trommel (bhodhrán) beschrieben wird. Die Popularität der bodhrán steigt seit den 1950ern und 1960ern durch Bands wie The Chieftains, Planxty und Stockton’s Wing stetig an. Trotz ihrer irischen Herkunft erfreut sich die bodhrán in Bezug auf keltische Musik besonders in Schottland und Neufundland wachsender Popularität.

Am I the only one who can't tell Sharon and Caroline apart when they're not playing their instruments? When they are playing their instruments I know that Caroline plays the drums and Sharon plays the violin but when they're not playing I can't tell them apart
