Can't listen to this without tearing up. The poetry of the song, the beautiful voice of Alaina Reed, the memory of sweet childhood mornings spent in the company of my friends on SS. Just sums up everything good and innocent about life 30 years ago. Thanks so much for posting.

Awwwwwww, Kelly LeBrock. You see, that girl who sang that song was recognized by me as Kelly LeBrock herself.

I am the Orinoco. I am the Majorca. I am the stream. Who am I. Who am I. Well, can you guess? I am a child. Grow up!

Alaina Reed played Olivia, Gordon's sister, on Sesame Street from 1976 to 1988. She passed away on December 17, 2009, after a courageous battle with breast cancer. She is missed by many.

The only part that kinda didn't make sense was the part about being Jupiter and Mars. Still don't understand how it made it in there.

I must say this gently spirited song both takes me back AND moves me forward. And Alaina Reed-Hall could under no circumstances be equaled; she had such a passionate singing voice and, with her ever cordial personality, constantly outshone EVERY human character on the show. It was simple that none of them could demonstrate such soul and love for other people the way she did. And I shall personally exclaim, "Rest in peace, Alaina. You have done us viewers an incomparable deed being on the show."

I think the term "world" in this case, does not mean "Earth", but rather all of creation much like the term "man" can refer to all of humankind. After all, the words in the song include "...the sun, the moon the stars."
