To be honest, I think there are plenty of great bands now, and there were plenty of awful groups back in the 90s. It's just a matter of time passing, the bad bands tend to fade out in hindsight. When they come to write the history of 00s hard rock and metal, the Nickelback will be a footnote, and groups like Mastodon will get the attention they deserve. At least that's what I'm hoping.

@doubleder the only connection i can see is that cornell coproduced uncle anestesia and they both put out their final(imo best) albums in 1996

I am so happy that I lived these days with this music,,,looking at nowadays,,,I see a big emptyness,,,I mean,,,where is the good music??right ,,times are changing,,,,but in the worst way!!I think,,personally,,they were the best american band of the 90's,,,,
