25 de septiembre de 2001 se lanza el album de la banda Saxon llamado ''Killing Ground''.es el décimo quinto álbum de estudio de la banda inglesa de heavy metal Saxon, publicado en septiembre de 2001 bajo el sello SPV/Steamhammer Records.Tras su lanzamiento tuvo problemas en los Estados Unidos ya que el distribuidor para aquel país no cumplió con lo establecido, obligando a la discográfica a importar el álbum desde Europa, lo que afectó directamente a los fanáticos estadounidenses a pagar un precio mayor. A pesar del percance la crítica fue excelente, situándolo a la par con sus anteriores trabajos Dogs of War y Crusader, en cuanto a sonido y creatividad musical.Por un tiempo limitado el disco fue lanzado en una edición especial, el que contaba con el disco original y además de un disco de regrabaciones de éxitos anteriores de la banda, preludio de lo que sería el álbum Heavy Metal Thunder.Por último y como dato, la banda grabó una versión de la canción «The Court of the Crimson King» original de la banda King Crimson, a la cual ellos llamaron simplemente «Court of the Crimson King».Saxon - The Court of the Crimson King

I disagree... It definitely sounds more epic and intense, but at times it gets a little bloated and overuses instruments a little too much. 2:14 onwards, for instance. Crimson knows where to stop and that subtlety adds up to the haunting sound of the original. Not saying it's bad, hell, I love Saxon and I understand that if you're not going to make any changes to the original you shouldn't even bother to make a cover.
