Savatage are are like a lot of bands that are very creative & will try out new things & paths by experimenting & combining different styles or genres of music...But savatage still sound great even today when hearing their stuff....but the song gutter ballet is the very first song I ever heard of theirs & loved it,& is a master piece in my books,even though they did other great tracks....

if you hear some of there other stuff you well see why thy went under. thy started off as metal then changed there music. thy only made like 2 good cd s then took a nose dive to sucky.

Bad promoting ,poor management, otherwise they would have been huge! Once Jon stepped down from the mic the band did better commercially but never sounded the same. It's a DAMNED shame they were better than EVERYBODY else. They make Motley Crue sound like, well the crap band they are/were. Just one mans opinion.
