The shadow of your smile

When you are gone

Will color all my dreams

And light the dawn

Look into my eyes, my eyes, look and see

All the lovely things, you are, to me

A wistful little star

Was far, too high

A teardrop kissed your lips

And so did I love

When I remember spring

All the joy that love can bring

I'll will be remembering

The shadow of your smile

A wistful little star

Was far, too high

A teardrop kissed your lips

And so did I

Now when I remember spring

All the joy that love can bring

I'll will be remembering

The shadow of your smile

Now when I remember spring

All the joy that love can bring

I'll be remembering

The shadow of your smile

The shadow of your smile

The shadow of your smile

#Jazz

My Newark, produced something so "God" perfect in it's creation, tears involuntarily form in quiet streams as I remember the injured city of my youth. Sarah made me aware of the gifts given to us are to always be shared generously & lovingly!

I've always been curious to hear this material or, for that matter, anything from Bob James between his experimental and CTI periods. He and Gato Barbieri are the only two jazz artists I can think of who were able to transcend the "out" scene and re-invent themselves in the more commercial arena of early fusion or pre-smooth jazz. Actually, I shouldn't leave Creed Taylor out of that since he was the founder of the CTI movement.

To see her progress from 1958 to this 1967 from deep soul to a soul that I can't think of a word to describe except magical. Her command of the song, the intelligence she gives it couldn't be duplicated today with all the electronics in the world. She pulls you in and you can't escape...but who would want to? Love it.
