this is the strongest I've heard sarah slean sing in quite awhile. sometimes her voice tends to waiver with emotion...not here, she hits every note with precision and certainty, like she's projecting revenge even while she guards and reclaims that profound sensitivity.

Sarah Slean's music produces peace--and then a sense of enormous injustice. The peace comes from the beauty and utter emotional sincerity of each song, and the injustice comes from how little-known she is. I know fame isn't everything, and may have helped make it easier for her to retain her individuality--which is one of her most attractive traits to me. She is a true artist, and doesn't need or try to imitate anyone else. All the same...sigh.

Such a powerful song. I am forced to close my eyes when listening, to prevent any distractions. I can't really describe what I'm visualizing, but someone is slowly and tenderly closing their arms around me and pressing their lips against my ear and telling me something meant only for me.

possibly my favorite. her intimate vocal performance, against the beautiful sparse arrangement, moves me profoundly. and to think that the producer, if i have this is right, is the incredible electric guitar player from i mother earth - to produce something this tender - wow.
