Sandy Stewart's music video for "Saddest Victory", a single from her 1984 album Cat Dancer (released on Stevie Nicks' record label "Modern Records").

Stevie Nicks' vocals were featured in three songs on the album: "Cat Dancers", "Get My Way" and the duet "I Pretend". It is rumored that Stevie had more prominent backing vocals on other tracks as well, but Sandy decided not to use them. There was also a supposed falling out between the two of them around the same time.

The previous year, Sandy contributed vocals and songwriting credits to Stevie Nicks' second solo album The Wild Heart, where her vocals can be prominently heard on "Nightbird". She also wrote the music for the hit single "If Anyone Falls".

I forgot to mention one last thing: Cat Dancers proves that you can be talented and produce a fantastic record and still not make it. There's something wrong about that whole scenario.

I lived in L.A. at that time, and through the musician grapevine, I remember hearing some stories...I bought this record as soon as it came out. I have it on CD now. Sandy and I are the same age. Wow! What a woman! I'm surprised I didn't run into her back then. I'd still like to meet her now...I have wondered about Sandy for twenty years. I hope she's doing OK.

Cool song, sexy & pretty girlie girl ! I had this goofy flashback... Sandy's pretty & sexy face reminds me of the horny lady depicted on the 25-cent Condom Machines at the truck stops and dive bars along I-40... "Ribbed... for HER pleasure" BWAAhahahaha i krak me up... I dunno how I do it

That is so cool! I love all of Sandy's work on Stevie's 'The Wild Heart' album (which just turned 30 on June 10th). Her vocals & piano playing on 'Nightbird' make that song even better. This album was released in Feb. of 1984? This past Feb I had my radio on & they had Casey Kasem's retro 'American Top 40' on & it was the first week of Feb.1984, Stevie's 'Nightbird' was in the top 40, so Sandy's debut album came out when she had a top 40 hit with Stevie. If you have facebook, look up Sandy. :-)

In the fall of 83, not long after the release of Stevie's 2nd solo lp, Sandy came to visit me when I was managing the Tower store in NYC. I blasted If Anyone Falls for Sandy that morning in the huge empty store. She was so sweet and made a promise to me which she did keep. What a woman!!!!!

I bought this album on cassette in 1984 when Sandy was relatively unknown. I think I wore the tape out--it was such a great album.
