Serving in Europe with the Canadians when I first heard you. We were home sick and used to cry when we heard you sing. You were the best. Thank you for the memories.

After all these years, I am still so deeply love with her voice...I remember listening to this song from the radio of my 1966 Mercury GT Cyclone... those were the days and I miss them so... I hope Heaven can replicate those feelings I had during the best time of my life...

Delicious, moody, pretty - before women turned into monsters.

Good song; Wonderful theme for its time. Sad that I never heard of her, here in the north-east when I was a kid!!!

Strangely Sandy Posey was one of the pin-ups in the French Foreign Legion; most men were, of course, homeless outside the Legion but had dreams of clean honest girls.......well you do, don't you?

When I was young (ok, 16) I did not like this song. I thought it a little pathetic. I was on the cusp of feminism. My mum wanted me married at age 16 or 17 and a lot of friends were. I left home, went to college and just thought I would meet a nice guy and marry him. I didn't. 50 of the 55 girls on my course did so I was a single girl and lonely, seriously lonely. In my post-grad year I was the only single person in the whole of the college (that put paid to my ideas about how pathetic this song was.). I learned about men and their lies and that "nobody loves me cos nobody knows me and nobody takes the time to go slowly" was a reality for 12 years. It can still be true now. It is a powerful song about loneliness in cities.

I think Gary's comment is more sentimental then this song....she must have or is still a great woman Gary.....1966 wasn't easy for any mothers....single or not because it was a rebellious era....
