I described Sandy's songs in terms of being "amazingly fine" which is much stronger than just 'good' . So you see that narrows the field significantly . When I listen to Sandy's playing and composition on a song such as 'Next Time Around' I am thankful that it's simplicity and timing was not ruined by too much application of technique or 'knowledge' . As it is Sandy's piano playing this song is affecting ,profound and moving and this justifies her worth as a pianist in my book.

Who is talking about classical maestros? From what you have said that means that ANYBODY who can write a good song using their own particular instrument is a great player. That is a pretty wide field that dilutes the word great. The best musicans do not always make best writers and the best writers do not always make the best musicians, that's all I am saying.

She was a great piano player because she used the instrument to create amazingly fine music .Her playing may not have been up to the technical standard of a classical maestro but so what? Many technically gifted players of whatever instrument cannot create music with those instruments but Sandy could and did !

Fantastic...Not only was she an amazing singer but an excellent guitaist and piano player. All round brilliant musician and beautiful into the bargain. Sandy you are the finest.
