Absolutely amazing, there's something that reminds me so much of Nick Drake when you sing this tune :)

What combination of Travis/Clawhammer finger picking are you using ? Be nice to see a clip of your right hand... Nice arrangement !

Open tunings are a question of taste. I'm basically self-taught, sitting near the front and watching :). I find they are interesting because they make encourage you to take a different look at guitar-playing and what you learn you can bring back to standard tuning. A lot of my favourite British acoustic guitarists seem to gravitate around standard, DADGBE, and DADGAD. This is true of Richard Thompson, Bert Jansch, Michael Chapman, John Martyn and John Renbourn. RT also uses CGDGBE quite a lot.

Thanks very much. No, it's a Cort Earth 1200 - beautiful finish, lovely neck and inlay round the sound-hole and the body. It's a hand-made Korean model. I really like Open G as a tuning and also all of the D tunings DADF#AD. Open D is convenient because by changing just the F#, you can switch to DADGAD, DADFAD (minor), DADEAD, and DADDAD. Raise the A to B from DADGAD and you've got Double dropped D. Open C (CGCGCE) is also fun to play around with.

Wow! Great performance! Is that a Taylor 900 series? Never tried one of those alternative tunings in my 40+ years of playing, going to have to try this, and thanks for your performance and giving us the tuning.

@H9MD43 Yes, you're right. I play it in Open G (DGDGBD) tuning with the capo on the 2nd fret, which puts it in the key of A. The original is in the key of G however. I don't actually play it as per the original. I've mixed the 2 guitar parts, for fun, playing the melody on the first 2 lines "The hands on the clock keep turning round/ They point to the time of the day". For the last 2 lines, I go down rather than up following the harmony part which is sung and, I assume, played by Dave Cousins.

Sorry man, how old are you. I´m trying to play this song, but it's difficult and i think you're great. Can you play "how everyone but Sam was a hypocrite" please? Hi, from Mexico. (sorry for my english it's basic)
