The "help that never came" mentioned in this song generally refers to the Allies, but specifically the Soviets.The Warsaw uprising was timed to coincide with the Soviet invasion of Warsaw and the Soviets gave the Polish Resistance their assurances that they would help them liberate Warsaw.So the Warsaw Uprising happened and the Soviets deliberately stalled their invasion so that the Polish Resistance would be crushed. Then the Soviets moved in, no longer having any threat left to their communist dominion over Poland.So yeah, Britain and France were a bit scummy for not helping against the initial German invasion but at least they didn't stand on the front door and go "What? You need help? Wait just a minute, we're busy doing... Something."

Uprising IN NUMBERS:- Uprising fallen after 63 days- 90 % of Warsaw were destroyd by Germans (Warsaw was bigger before war, than is now )- the Germans killed abount 200 000 civilians ! ! ! ! ! !
