Your favorite singer can't be the best on all songs. To cover all the songs I know since 1930's I have probably over a dozen favorite singers. "IN DREAMS" requires "ORBISON." "WHITMAN" on songs requiring multi-octave range. "REEVES" on slow & smooth. The best have vocal nuance instead of 1 octave screaming. "CLINE" could caress every word. So much love from 1930's to about 1960's.

This song sounds dead go listen to Elvis and this song turns into rock, Elvis version is alive you people have ear trouble. Hear Elvis sing this and see if you stay in your chair or if your fingers don't start shaking, everything Elvis covered became his cuz he would blow out the original version. They were friends Roy looked up to Elvis and Elvis loved Roy's voice but you people need a hearing lesson cuz nobody can match The Kings version that's the truth

Don Gibson's version is the best since it was his song. Ray Charles' version is second on my list. But Roy Orbison always did a great job with every song he recorded.

I have always worshiped Roy Orbison but Mr Jim Reeves knocked this one out of the park. put the headphones on and listen to Jims version. No dispute about it. Roy himself was a huge Jim Reeves fan.
