TV-Tipps hamwa heute keine, dafür wollen wir mal wieder gratulieren: Roky Erickson, Mastermind der legendären 13th Floor Elevators und Pionier des Psychedelic Rock, wird heute 67 Lenze alt. Eigentlich kein biblisches Alter, für Erickson ob seines früheren exzessiven Lebenswandels dennoch eine Leistung. 1968 wanderte Erickson wegen Drogenbesitzes in die Klapse, nachdem er, um nicht in den Knast zu müssen, sich als psychisch krank erklärte. Dort erging es ihm nicht besser als Randall P. McMurphy aus "Einer flog übers Kuckucksnest"; Psychopharmaka und Elektroschocks hinterliessen bei ihm zeitlebens Spuren. Den mehrjährigen Horrortrip versuchte er nach der Entlassung in musikalischer Form zu verarbeiten, heraus kamen großartig düstere Rocknummern über Dämonen, Zombies und sonstige Untote.
