52 years ago I heard Rod......earth, sky and sea album. Wore out the records and was only able to purchase separate "copy" records, but I still enjoyed them. Will miss this man's sensitive, tender lyrics and great husky voice.

Rod passed away at The Rehabilitation Center of Beverly Hills, after a bout with pneumonia, & an admission to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He was 13 years older than I am now. I miss him terribly, though I'm not entirely sure why. To say, " there was just something different--exceptional-unusual, about R.M. McKuen", just doesn't even begin to say it. There is no one like him, & I loved his music & poetry, I'm unashamed to say ! RIP Rod, we miss you. Wolfsky9

@ Ron Cromer,I see this same post over and over and over on almost every Rod McKuen-related video on Youtube. Listen, rather than telling your tale of lost love to every McKuen fan on Youtube ad nauseum, why not try instead to locate your "lost love" Kathy? There are several different excellent search engines-all free or nominal fee-on the net that you can use to locate her today. If you are seriously missing her-as your endless posts would indicate-drop me a message and I shall be all too happy to help you locate your "lost love."

Discovered Rod McKuen in the late 60's and fell in love. The San Sebastian Strings and him are the duet of the century. What a poet. Bring him on!

Another of what has become a favorite from this most enigmatic, interesting artist. As I commented on another of his songs, I was intro'd to Mr. M. at a time in my life --'68--too young, too shallow, too into The Moody Blues & " Days Of Future Passed ", to consider anyone else, much less Rod McKuen. For me, it took moving to The City in '80, & living --surviving barely--loss upon loss, to understand & love the beauty of this man's music & words. Wolfsky9, 67 y/o Now.

This song is the map I follow, the vehicle that I ride back to the happiest moments of my life. Her name was Kathy and it was 1968 when she first introduced me to the music, and poetry, of Rod McKuen. We saw him in concert in the early Fall of that year at the old Melodyland in Anaheim, CA. and it might have been the most memorable night of my life. I was drafted in early '69 and I lost her while in Vietnam. But for a moment, in time, her love for me felt like the warmth of sunshine.........
