I like how he leads the evidence. This guy is a virtuoso. As we all know. You get heart and soul from a guy with a lot of heart and soul. You must have it to be able to project it.

Professor Ford is a great teacher! All kidding aside, Robben Ford is one of my absolute favorite guitarists ever! Great stuff!

You can use minor and major blues/pentatonic over a major blues providing it is a Imaj triad or I7 chord. Your ear is technically hearing a #9 not a b3 thus it will work but you cannot play a major blues/pentatonic over a minor blues.

Best answer: on a major 7th chord, use a minor pent. guilt on the third. That way a bland, "pretty" major 7th can get a blues feel. ie: play E minor pent over a C major 7th.

i think a slower tempo blues, allows you to make that major so sweet it brings a tear to your eye kinda thing also, the chords and way the band is playing behind you has a lot to do with it

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe it's a Riviera with a stopbar/ABR-1 bridge as opposed to the Frequensator tailpiece you normally see them with.

The old epiphone's are just as sought after as old Gibsons! I would kill for an old-school epiphone, but yes, 90 % of tone is the player!
