When this song was playing on the radio, I spent the winter living in a hippie school bus. The bus' battery went dead, but it charged up enough overnight to power the radio for a few minutes. I swear every day I turn that radio on that this song was playing, "You're my baby. You're my pet..."

It never gets old. I "knew" a 16 year-old once upon a time, but then again it WAS the 1960s. wink

I've always hoped that Ringo would change this song to" you're 18". Also, the lyrics to "you're 18". I know it's just a song but it would be better suited to not sound like pedophilia. Don't get me wrong, I love Ringo and I would love this song if it didn't give me the ebby gbbys.

Johnny Burnette in 1960 the original and best.

Johnny Burnette was already 26 when he cut this song. He died at age 30 per Joel Whitburn.

I ike the song a lot. I once played it live at school. Especially the part at 2.35, where you can hear Paul (McCartney) sing a small piece. He played the kazoo on the record.
