Pine Knob Theatre, May 30th 1997.

Procol Harum is the self-titled first album by British rock band Procol Harum, released in September 1967. The original Deram release of the LP included a large poster of the album cover artwork by Dickinson.

Though the album was recorded on multi-track, it was issued in mono-only in the UK, and in mono and rechanneled stereo in the US. Despite extensive searching, the original multi-track tapes have not been located and thus a stereo mix of the original 10 tracks may never be possible. Several alternate takes (marked + in the list, below), however, have been mixed into stereo and are available on CD.

When music like this comes on I’m not actually a fat balding 58yr old man but a skinny 17 yr old kid with long flowing locks with this tune on an 8 track player smokin’ doobies..........IN A VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER!!! Ha Ha!

Ringo took a break apparently. Simon did OK on the drums. He missed a lot of the fills and his feel was a heavy rock feel instead of a charging staccato kind of feel during the choruses and solos.

This is great! Brooker is one of the greatest singers there is! With Frampton scorching on the guitar this version is one of the best!

Jack Bruce on bass...Simon Kirke on drums...Peter Frampton playing Procol Harum lead guitar? Damn Frampton's solo on this is excellent. Still think the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra version is the most epic version but Frampton's excellent & commendable as a Procol lead guitarist. Brooker is always superb. This entire performance is blistering and Ringo Starr -- he puts together some of the finest fiery & memorable rock shows with his AllStarrBand.
