Yeah, that's the point. Just because they usually sing barbershop doesn't mean that EVERYTHING they sing is barbershop. But then again, maybe everyone doesn't realize that. Noone said that this particular performance is barbershopmusic. Stop bitching and start appreciate the music for what it is.

To me Barbershop is vocal only. Folk music with electric guitars and drums isn't folk music. I'm funny that way.

And where did you read "This is barbershop"? Yes, they are a barbershopquartet but that doesn't mean that they aren't allowed to sing anything else.

Only gives credence to the greatness of the Beach Boys, even without the backup instruments. This is brutal, but I realize it's just for fun.

Ringmasters are sick!!! :-) Is this barbershop? Hell no. Can they kill this just as well as crushing a pure barbershop chart? Absolutely! My fave quartet these days. AMAZING talent!

They did a great rendition of the song. I was merely commenting on the way this was presented. Barbershop has always been Acappella singing. The organization (SPEBSQSA) states this fact on their website. My mom sang with a Sweet Adelines chorus for 23 years and I followed that chorus all over this continent. (they've had 3 International Championship Medals) There was never a musical instrument involved. They just don't do it. Only correcting a misconception. Again, I liked the performance :~)
