The song from The Allman Brother's Midnight Rider came about when Gregg told his stagehands he had a song in his head he can't get out of his head. They went to the studio. Gregg taught the stagehand how to play. Gregg pointed to the stagehands when its stagehands turn. They recorded it. Gregg got residuals and ALSO the stagehands. On the cover the stagehands name is on the song credits- NOT Dwayne. That's NOT Dwayne playing on that song.

Actually Derringer's have two shots.He was also in Johnny Winter's band "AND" which is considered by many to be the greatest blues/rock band of all time.Listen to Johnny Winter "And Live" album.That's Rick switching leads with Johnny.Not an easy task.Extremely respectable and noteable guitarist.Up there with the best.I personally don't care how many hit singles he had.If you rate someone like that you must be a pickle smoker.

I got to meet Rick's wife Jenda on Tuesday night(the 26th); in a local hangout called The Shake Pit in Bradenton, Florida where I live. I was there with my soon to be husband when she came in. She is super nice. This song was playing on the radio as she was talking to us and the owner about Rick.
