Ignoring the debate over who is the better singer, one of the things I liked about this line-up of Poison was the blend between Richie's and Bret's voices. It's unfortunate that they only managed the one album because it was something that could have developed over a couple more albums and tours.

Richie made that concert a huge success. Thanks to Poison for shooting Kotzen to the top faster. I can listen to Richie again and again. He is always reinventing himself and coming up with great songs. He is a fantastic vocalist and one of the best guitarists in the world.

Richie is great, and a better singer, yes. And I think it was probably around this time he was realizing it was going to be hard for him to be a "sideman". But I have to say, Poison's simpler stuff, basic as it is, had something that I don't think Kotzen ever got in his own music. Just goes to show ya. This doesn't even sound like Poison here.
