A Maestro USS-1? Hmm, I always thought it was one of Pete's ARPs, the 2600 specifically. Either way it's an amazing sound, to the uninitiated rock fan it must have sounded ultra-cutting-edge, high-tech in '71.Here's one case where Pete's demo really does sound anemic compared to the Who's released version, especially on the choruses. There's a big gaping hole in the mix where a prominent acoutstic guitar ultimately was inserted. And this song really just *needs* Roger on vocals.

I've always loved the synth part on this song. The temp is fater on the final version, though. I put both in my "Who's Besty.." playlist. Thanks for the upload!

It's interesting how not one of these videos has a thumbs down vote. There is usually some asshole who feels the need to be the one person to vote it down. Then again, these combine to be the skeleton of the who - there is nothing wrong with them.

@patohdz Supposedly its the Maestro USS-1. They go for $1500-$2500! You can get the sound from a Maestro sample and hold as well.

the beginning 4 bars of the guitar w/ the RANDOM LFO is PERFECT SOUNDING!!! (especially the 3rd n 4th bar) ....better than the one on the album.
