#Roberto #Giuliano - alias #ReacTj, presents us a new music show with his #Reactable - an instrument which generates a complex series of sounds associated to luminous movements. It combines the idea of generative music with mesmerizing light tricks which mingle with the rhythm of the music. It is noise made into sound, #ReacTj explains. The sound of electronic music. Based in Turin, where he experiments with electronic music, he brings his music all around Europe.

Is the melody randomly created?

In some ways it is. It’s actual noise, which the #Reactable transforms into music.

How is a beat generated?

First, you have to generate a wave, such as a sinusoid. Then you can work on and elaborate the sound, which is run on a loop through fingertip control, and then you can integrate other sounds and filters.

When did you get into this kind of music?

When I got my first #Commodore64. Along the years, other electonic devices and my eagerness to experiment with them have done the rest.

Where do you perform?

All around the world, but mainly in #Italy. The highlight was my participation in the #TV #show Italia’s Got Talent #ItaliasGotTalent

How many people are experimenting with this type of music?

Very few in the world, but I think I’m the only one in Italy to have the #Reactable.

Where do you take your inspiration from?

I love #Deadmau5, even though I’m closer to dance music. I also follow my mood and the feelings I get directly from my #Reactable.

The name is usually meaningful – why #ReacTj?

#ReacTj is the contraction of #Reactable – Reac – and table jockey – Tj, an expansion of the disk jockeys.

Un music play che #Roberto #Giuliano in arte #ReacTj porta in giro per l'Europa, a partire da #Torino dove dal suo studio sperimenta e miscela onde di musica elettronica grazie al suo #Reactable, uno strumento in grado di generare una serie complessa di mutazioni sonore associate a movimenti luminosi.

Il principio è quello della musica generativa spiega #ReacTj, è il rumore che diventa suono, che si trasforma in melodia. Il tutto attraverso un gioco di luci e una combinazione armonica che segue il ritmo, quello della musica elettronica.

Si tratta di una melodia generata in modo casuale?

In un certo senso si, sono veri e propri rumori, che grazie al #Reactable vengono convogliati in qualcosa che assume tratti musicali.

Come nasce un beat?

Si parte dalla generazione d'onda, ad esempio di una sinusoide, da lì, si manipola ed elabora il suono, che diventa un loop attraverso i comandi sul touch, poi si inseriscono effetti e filtri.

Quando ha scoperto la passione per questo tipo di musica?

Con il mio primo #Commodore64. Negli anni, le altre macchine elettroniche e la mia voglia di sperimentare musica hanno fatto il resto.

Dove si esibisce?

In tutta #Italia e nel mondo, la partecipazione televisiva più importante è stata a Italia's Got Talent 2015 #ItaliasGotTalent

Quanti siete a proporre questo nuovo modo di fare musica?

In pochi nel mondo, in #Italia penso di essere tra i pochi ad avere la #Reactable.

Si ispira a qualche artista in particolare?

Adoro la musica di #Deadmau5. Anche se il mio genere rispetto al suo, è più vicino alla dance e alle sensazioni che mi trasmette la mia #Reactable, questa musica nasce molto dall'umore.

Dal nome di solito si capiscono molte cose, perché #ReacTj?

#ReacTj è il connubio di due parole, Reac come "tavolo reattivo" e Tj "table jockey" l'evoluzione dei #disk #jockey #dj #diskjockey
