I've met Ray several times before or after a show, but one time stands out... We went to see him in Wheeling a while back, and asked his band if we could request a song for our anniversary. His son said "Ray don't do requests" Ray happened to be standing behind a partition and heard our conversation, he came around and said "what song"? I asked for "Your the Best Thing That Ever Happened" he smiled and nodded. Not only did he sing the song but also announced our anniversary onstage. CLASS!!!

I believe there are only two left who were close performers with Hank williams, with Price being one and Bill Lister being the other. Hank took Ray Price under with arm and made the grand ole opera put him on as a unknown, and Williams wrote with price. It shows Williams charactor, a superstar helping a new person. This song would make Hank Proud. It's a 10 plus, and isn't Price still sounding good.
