Also, they chart more tones on the higher difficulties, and are a lot harsher and starting and stopping at the right time. For example, Toxicity in GH:Metallica. On lower difficulties, it'll give you a long string of tones with a small amount of changes in it. On expert, every individual word is its own "bar", and the tones change between and during words as they should. It's like on guitar, how on hard, they'll leave out some of the notes in between other notes you would usually play on expert.

It's been my experience the vocal arrow moves more sluggish if you're not as sharp or as flat as you should be on harder difficulties when you sing. Exceptions are songs like these, because when screaming and gutteral sounds are really on the low end of the tonal spectrum and isn't considered singing, so you can just talk in monotone and you'll still get a spot on mark.
