I guess they didn't want to "fake it" at a show like this, but at this time, when you saw them live they were WAY more energetic, jumping around and putting on an incredible show.

I used to go see them around this time (starting in '83) and they were AMAZING live. Mind-blowing. (Remember, there were WAY less bands like this back then! Now, everybody TRIES to play this kind of music but the Ramones were the originals.)

richie could have taken them to the thrash scene that was starting!! i wish him and deedee would have made an album together!! for me tommy will always be my fav. then richie and marky!! tommy said when he left he would find some one better and did marky was the man!! when mark left for his side project im sure he said the same thing!! and RICHIE was born!!

Are you fucking crazy? Listen to the 2 DUST albums Marky played on. Listen to "Blank Generation" by Richard Hell that Marky played on. Marky runs fucking circles around Richie AND Marky's resume is 10 years deep BEFORE the Ramones.

I have had the pleasure of meeting Marky Ramone. He was very candid about his time as Ramone and as an Electric Chair with Wayne / Jayne County and his sadness at the demise of the band and the deaths of his former friends and fellow band members was clearly evident. There was a lot of regrets - more about things that weren't said and done - so it might be this unhappiness is what you're mistaking for miserable. I too feel a sadness over the loss bt I am naturally a miserable git.
