From Wikipedia:"The scimitar appears as a symbol of the Russian enemy in the Finnish coat of arms of the Province of Karelia, which depicts two armored arms fighting with swords. The dexter sword symbolizes Swedish forces and the West, while the sinister scimitar symbolizes Russians and the East. Karelia has been a battleground between the Swedish and Russian empires for centuries. From this context, the sword and scimitar have found their way into the coat of arms of Finland, which depicts a lion brandishing a sword and trampling a scimitar. During the period of Russian sovereignty over Finland (1809–1917), the scimitar was moved to the left paw of the lion, only to be returned to being trampled with the independence of Finland in 1917."lol. It's amazing just how much history is found in the everyday symbols that have carried on to modern times.

For some reason the recording ends with the German march "Ich hatt' einen Kameraden".

Still, after almost eleven and a half years after my grandfather past away, this song makes me cry. He was a veteran and this song was played in his funeral and I was there having a holiday from military forces... I'll never forget the moment when I met his veteran friends... having utmost respect for all who fought for our independency!

Sounds like something from an old World War II cartoon or something in a similar vein.

This march is called "Narvan Marssi"... It is a funeral march to HONOUR a Finnish soldier who has died in the battlefield... The coffin is covered with the Finnish army flag too... In Finland it is a tradition to play this march on a funeral for a President and army Generals also in time of peace
