i had forgotten about the Pretenders until my sister bought this for me in 1994. i was amazed that it was chock full of energy, great songs, and emotion, and....CHRISSIE HYNDE DID NOT SELL OUT, and never has. She didn't change her song to sound like 90s alternative, or reinvent herself to market to a new audience. She continued doing her hard rock/blues rock, and coming up with different melodies and variation in a fresh sounding, enjoyable album.....and, after "Last of the Independents", I forgot about them all over again. I have almost no familiarity about any of her work after that.

Best CD by The Pretenders since Learning To Crawl and the best since. This is a great album that is sadly underrated. It's just epic..
