all of the big 4 are kind of overrated to a point. does that mean they're bad? no. they're still enjoyable. the only exception is Metallica. but that is just me. i never like Metallica since i always felt they were to commercial and poppy for me.

Duuuuuude, Bathory is above every band you mentioned in your comment, in my opinion. But I respect yours. They weren't influenced by Venom at all. Quorthon came out around the same time and had a way different sound in my opinion. Venom is a lot of fun and I enjoy them but Bathory is on another level. Possessed is amazing as well! Cheers!

There is no connection between Venom and Bathory, except that they're Black Metal that bring that punk feel into the mix. I find it blasphemous that you would call Quorthon a liar. It's a fact without Venom,Bathory would've still be the band they set out to be.
