your right. Why the hell would we ever label and classify things? It utterly baffles me. Just, imagine where we would be if we didnt classify things... we would have no advances in any sciences, children would not know what is safe and what is not. Since its so terrible to classify things we couldnt carry out science as it classifies things to understand them, and we could not tell children what to avoid and what not. I so could not agree with you any more.

If something is experimental and defies classification, it's going to get classified by people anyway. That's what the term "avant-garde" is for. And it helps in finding more music similar to it - without a classifier, it would be too difficult to find more like it.
