From the 80's Channel 4 TV show 'The Unforgettables'
P.J. Proby released "Somewhere" in 1964 and it reached No: 6 in the UK, No: 7 in Australia & No: 17 in Canada. The Song is originally from the 1957 Broadway musical West Side Story.
P.J. Proby was born and raised in Texas and is a songwriter as well as having acted in various musical theatre productions, even portraying Elvis Presley.
In 1961, Smith changed his stage name from Jett Powers to P.J. Proby, as suggested by fellow songwriter, Sharon Sheeley as it was the name of one of her childhood friends.

P.J. Proby is 5 foot 11 inches tall. Good that's sorted! He's also the best voiced pop singer of all time! A few people do not rate him, many many more do!! You comments have all the arrogance of a youth who thinks getting old is something that happens to other people. Actually the lucky ones get old. The unlucky ones die. To quote Rod Stewart "Youth is a mask, live now and live it fast" You mock the people on the oldies circuit, but they have achieved much more than you and I.
