i read an interview with her many years ago in D&C and she reflected on her image during this era stating that it was more of a mask than she'd ever had and that she was lost and had no sense of herself. and those of you commenting that her career is over….i know some of these half-witted claims were written several years ago but as we've seen,in the past couple years,no her career isn't over…she's just as vital and influential as ever. listen,she's in her 40's now…she's a mature woman with much more mature aspirations. she hasn't gone easy listening on us….she still creates music that's as idiosyncratic as it ever was then and as authentic as ever. i adore this era of PJ as i do her entire career but i feel if one deems themselves true fans and their musical taste is broad enough,they will evolve and grow right along with her.
