It was a much safer time when this album came out. On Friday night group of friends and I would crash parties in the dorms of a university that was close by. It was there that we heard this the first time. (high, of course) We were all there just sitting and listening and not believing what our ears were hearing, But if I was high school age now, I would never go knocking on dorm doors looking for a party-too dangerous. Very sad, indeed.

Saw them at the Spectrum in Philadelphia when this first came out. Eight speakers just under the ceiling surrounded us, and we were SO stoned. It was literally "octaphonic" stereo, where this sequencer piece was played quickly from one speaker at a time in the circle, so that our heads involuntarily rolled around and around according to where the sound was coming from. And it was played just loud enough to give you a visceral feeling but not make you go deaf. BEST live music experience I ever had to this day. However, Floyd never did it that way again in concerts I went to after that. The speakers just kept getting larger and more deafening. Shame.
