We LiKE 80's Brit Pop (PART 3) : Spandau Ballet - were a British band formed in London in the late 1970s. Initially inspired by the New Romantic fashion, their music has featured a mixture of funk, jazz, soul and synthpop. They were one of the most successful bands of the 1980s, achieving ten Top Ten singles and four Top Ten albums in the UK between 1980 and 1990.
"Gold" was a single from their flagship third album True, which was released in 1983. The song is Spandau Ballet's 2nd best-charting single behind their previous release "True," [1] reaching #2 on the UK Singles Chart (being held off the top by KC and the Sunshine Band's "Give It Up"), and #29 on the U.S Billboard Hot 100 chart.
This cover piece was arranged and played by Karim, from ear, in the key of G minor. It was then transposed +3, because once again, he is lazy.
