It is related. idiots tend to conform and derive there aesthetic taste from mainstream promotion, exposure and popularity. The more savvy and astute listeners derive their taste from personal judgement, they discriminate and pay no heed to other peoples taste. Aesthetics and the ability to perceive value and worth are not perceived by all just as some people are colour blind.
