I am 40 now and I am proud of where I came from. I dropped out of school in the 10th grade and lived on the streets and rolling with the homies. I had no choice but to be in the streets. At home my stepdad was molesting me since the age of 5 and my mother knwew about it. My mother is still with this man. My homies and my hood were my family. I am now in college majoring in Biotechnology. I would had never thought I would be in college now. I thought I would be dead by 20 and I am still standing! We are survivors!

I don't have a dad eathier, he died when I was 2 , I have a brother and a sister, my brothers always gone, he lives with his friend, my sister's always gone, never home, it's just me and my mom, I had to go away for a while with my sister and brother, it took a while for my mom to get better and get us back, it took 7 years. When I turned 10 she got us back, when I turned 12 we got remover again, and I'm still removed with my sister, my brothers 24 now, my sister's 16, I'm 13, my Mom found a boy friend when I was 4 , he helped her clean up but she still drank, when I turned 12 she stopped, she did her time, now she's out, her and her boyfriend(fiance) are trying to get us back, but she still drinks here and then, I'll always love my mom out of anyone , but she needs to quit, I know it's hard, but she needs to step up, or until December...she'll never get us back.

Life is a struggle physically and mentally....most of us were lucky not to go through that but yet were no different or better anyone else if we turn away and not lend a hand of help those who need it even the cost of your life because our lives... yours, mine and everyone else is not greater than the other...because deep down you feel that if that was you on the ground losing light in your eyes and just nothing but a shadow casting on you...you will wish they help you...so not to be scared to help others in the hood or not....it is survival to the fittest...but understand each other we can because we all got family to look for and protect to very core being a snitch or not...we all prefer our family... protect them our own way and our saying of opinion... were always right just as wrong in other people's way of opinion...so I give my bless to this man of his struggle in life like everyone else had before too...life is never clear...its worth the risk to walk to a better future
