I think sub genres can be useful. For instance, if someone says "power metal," it can mean a few different things, but if he says "melodic power metal," then I am almost guaranteed to like it. Also, if someone says "U.S. power metal," then I am almost guaranteed to dislike it, because power metal from America tends to be heavier and more boring.11 years назад

Dude don't listen to these guys. Their head is full of too many technicalities and bands that sound exactly the same. Don't try to put a brand on shit too much. This band is awesome and it's metal, that's about all that matters. I can't even listen to most of the stuff they mentioned for more than 5 minutes without falling asleep. Music is strange that way and shouldn't be analyzed to the point of sub-sub-sub genres and nerdy rejects classifying everything.11 years назад

Are we speaking literally, as in, where the people are from, or are we talking about the actual musical style? I have listened to some US Power Metal, and I never like it, so I figured that this was just European with some American influences.11 years назад

@Onewitnessus Out of all the bands I have listed, I could list only one "favorite," and that would only be one particular song, and it would not be the song I would consider "best," but rather, my personal favorite song. That would be And Let the Show Begin by Aquaria. It has virtually every element I want in a song. Singing, music, melody, lyrics, length. (Especially if you combine the preceding instrumental track) In general, I have no favorite anything, though.12 years назад
