Sailor is a 1961 Hit song by Petula Clark. My friend Ann introduced me to this song in 2008. Thanks Ann, I just love it. As an ex Royal Australian Navy sailor - I have memories of sailing away from loved ones. The black and white photos in this Music Video were taken by various members of the Royal Australian Navy Photographic Branch (including myself). I served in the R.A.N. Photographic Branch from 1961 to 1972.

I have liked Petula's songs since I was a teenager. I had not Heard this one as the version I Heard then was a German one by Lolita it was titled "Seaman". I always thought the original must be British but had not listened to this version before. Nice to hear as all of Petula's songs.10 years назад
