Peter Murphy stopped by the Rolling Stone studio to talk about his recent record, Ninth, and suggested it's best not to hold our breaths for a Bauhaus reunion. "Bauhaus hasn't existed since the last album in 2006, and that was only for 18 days," he tells us. "The further away from each other we are, the better. It's too emotional."

i guess it will remain a mystery! nothing wrong with that. they've always been mysterious anyway. yes, i heard about the "i spit roses" connection. supposedly, they were going to split up in the middle of recording the album "go away white". apparently it came down to peter (whether they would split up or not). peter came into the studio, amid tension, the rest of the band waited for his decision. he then spit roses at them. is that the version you heard?11 years назад

I don't think any of them have said what exactly happened in 2006, I can imagine some kind of slap fest haha. I Spit Roses is a direct reference that kind of sums up the essence of what always split up that band.11 years назад

does anyone know exactly what it was that happened? i've heard they will never discuss what happened to split the band up in 2006. peter gave a little information here, but didn't divulge too much. however, he did make it clear that it wasn't him that ended it!11 years назад

Most artists are perfectionists, so creating anything original is tough. E.G. Making music videos will always be a minefield of compromise between artistic authenticity and integrity, and taking into account someone else's interpretation of the song. Hence why ambiguous, yet personal music is the epitome of creativity in my eyes. Because you have the power to create something poetic and beautiful... or become a boyband. I digress.
