The only thing I know about this track is that it appeared on the soundtrack for a 1986 film called, "Playing for Keeps". Perhaps it was originally intended for the WHITE CITY album. I don't know.

Fairly decent song if you can overlook the God awful 1980s production value.

At the end, I've tacked on a radio promo Pete did for the US Airforce in 1968 or '69.

This song has a lot of classic Pete. Although the Who were dormant, we got this and Quicksilver Lightning from Roger around the same ti!me. Each song has classic attributes for both of them. Thanks for posting.

This song was written before he started on Iron Man. It has a white city vibe like it could have been on that album but I believe it was written just for the movie. Too bad the movie sucked so bad.

Pete recorded it during the Iron Man demos - the song even references Iron Man

That's why I keep listening to his songs and can't get enough- they are DEEEEEP. The first time I heard the Beatles and Led Zep and most others was the last time I had to....

Pete was a great song writer primarily because he read a lot of great spiritual writers. For example this song has a line that mirrors: “Courage is almost a contradiction in terms. It means a strong desire to live taking the form of readiness to die.” - GK Chesterton I am uncovering other DIRECT references to writers from long ago that influence Pete's songs: FR. Thomas Merton and Saint Julian of Norwich. He read these authors, trust me.

This song was not a leftover or reject from another album, but was written and recorded specifically for the opening title sequence of the movie, "Playing For Keeps." (It was recorded and mixed in Manchester, England.) You can hear the lyrics "This time we're playin' for keeps" at the end of the bridge, right before Pete's guitar solo.

My friend had the soundtrack that this was on, but it was on cassette and is probably long gone. It's seems they would have released this as a bonus track on one of the recent re-releases of Pete's solo albums, but I'm glad we have it here at least!
